Love Gave Us Nothing Less

To hold you in my arms

Brush back your flowing hair

Place your cheek next to mine

Drink in your loving stare

These are the things I see

When we are far apart

To help me find my way

Back home to where you are

It’s not the things you say

That make me love you more

All that you do shows me

Without you I am poor

No matter where you are

That’s where I want to be

Cause’ any other place

Won’t be this right for me

When I reach out to you

I know that you’ll be there

To hold me once again

And cover me with prayer

So when my skies are grey

And life is less than kind

I’ll search my heart again

Till’ love is yours and mine

To hold you in my arms

Brush back your flowing hair

Place your cheek next to mine

Drink in your loving stare

These are the things I see

When we are far apart

To help me find my way

Back home to where you are

Where ever you may go

Just think back to the times

When love was all we drank

And melted us like wine

Then when our time is gone

We’ll know we had the best

Because we gave our all

Love gave us nothing less.
