Old Keddie Park

The Pond at Keddie Park is long

It’s spillway from a time that’s past

Rock walls through decades still stand strong

As masons built this place to last

Though in decay from much neglect

The old Park holds its memories

Each day past friends come pay respect

And think what this place used to be

The arched pine bridge raised up across

Where sidewalls narrowed at its shore

To those who know we feel its loss

And know this bridge must be restored

High on a meadow, grass now brown

Above the wandering Spanish Creek

Old Keddie Park so close to town

Was once the place where most would meet

The tall bent oaks and towering pines

Surround the Park to give it shade

And short stacked stone wall paths still line

The hill beneath the old Highway

This timeless treasure carved by man

Holds riches great and memories sweet

Old Keddie Park forever stands

The entry guard to this Retreat
