Autumn Clad Park

The grass near the pond edge a deep hunter green

As trees with bright colors give Autumn it’s scene

I stand at this small Park so blessed to be here

To see Autumn’s change as cold weather draws near

An old Cedar stands on the opposite shore

It’s skeleton figure stripped naked and poor

But cast on the water from golden sunset

It’s limbs once more full in a gold silhouette

The water spills over the rock spillway wall

That fills the pond sharing it’s splash as it falls

The small gentle ripples build up then subside

As the pond at the Park goes along for the ride

Small squirrels gather pine nuts to store in their nests

And geese like an arrow fly high overhead

This “Autumn Clad Park” near the green Keddie bridge

Is a picture I’ll cherish each day that I live

Inspiration

Thinking about the once beautiful old cedar that stands above Keddie Pond
