Autumn in Keddie
Golden oak leaves filled with light
Bear remnants of the color green
Just days before bent branches full
Gave this Resort a different scene
The berry vines along its trails
Exhausted by the fruit they shared
Lay down to rest and thank the ground
As Fall rains strip these vines now bare
And late at night the Bears will roam
‘Neath moonlit skies they find their way
To eat the apples from the trees
In town near Keddie’s small café’
Log Cabins lined along the roads
Their roofs a soft leaf canopy
Bring color to the old wood roofs
A picture of what Fall should be
A whistle from a coming train
Toots near the “Keddie Y” each day
A tribute to this railroad town
Its old Hotel and quaint Café
For now I’ll take another glance
Appreciating Autumn’s scene
Along the streets of this small town
Where Keddie showed its heart to me
I breath this picture in my soul
When Autumn gave its colors bright
To view again on days of snow
As Winter paints this picture white
